Artist statement:
I’m a textile artist specializing in abstract and geometric quilts. How does one end up as such? I spent my first years out of college working at various companies as a software engineer until I quit my third corporate tech job at 26. Since, I’ve gone in a completely different direction and moved into the traditionally feminine worlds of quilting and childcare. Now I use art to explore gender roles, especially between the corporate world and the home sphere. I not only continue to write code, but also encode words into the quilts I make. Perhaps through this, I’ll blend supposedly disparate sides of myself together.
