Artist Statement

In looking and thinking about my art I have been discovering stories that I tell myself over and over. I am finding text and conversations that I have with myself and with others as well as with the art that I am currently working on. Lately I have been thinking about traces and shadows. I am remembering close friends and family that have gone and the shadows that they have left behind. I see shadows of the world as the light changes, traces of figures, and reminders of my past. I see hints of my inner thoughts and dreams, traces of things I have seen in the world and in my reading. My art reminds me of human emotions, traces of tenderness, shadows of beauty and lots and lots of love.
